Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2000 in Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel, with interment in Parkhill Cemetery. Mr.

Swint was born May 27, 1920 in Ellerslie, GA, the son of Emmett Guy and Ruby Lee Brawner Swint. He had lived in Ellerslie for the past 12 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Swint was retired from the Columbus Fire Department as Assistant Dispatcher after 31 years of service.

He was a member of the Silverliners, a Deacon and member of Bethesda Baptist Church. He was a former Sunday School teacher at Gentian Baptist Church and a member of Fire Fighters Association. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas R. Swint. Survivors include his wife, Mary Mendenhall Swint of Ellerslie; a son, Emmett Brawner Swint, of Atlanta; a daughter, Beth Bimber of Columbus; a granddaughter, Penney Bimber of Columbus; two brothers, James Ellis Swint of Columbus and J.T.

"Jake" Swint of Decatur; one niece, one nephew and two great nephews. In lieu of Flowers Memorials may be made to Building Fund of Bethesda Baptist Church, Ellerslie, GA. Doris Mebane October 4, 2000 PHENIX CITY, AL Mrs. Doris Mebane, age 84, of Phenix City, AL, (formerly of Dothan), died Wednesday evening, October 4, 2000 in Phenix City. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m.

Saturday, October 7, 2000 at the Chapel of Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home in Dothan, AL, with the Reverend Jeremy Pridgeon officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. (EST) at Colonial Funeral Home, Phenix City. Mrs.

Mebane was a native and resident of Dothan until 1997 when she moved to Phenix City to be with her daughter. She was employed by Ted's Jewelers for over 30 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dothan for many years. She attended regularly until she was no longer able, at which time she faithfully watched the church services on television. She was a fine Christian lady who was loved by many people and was devoted to her God, her family and friends, and she would go out of her way to help someone if it was within her power. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Suzie and Paul Bush of Phenix City, AL; three grandchildren and a grandson-in-law, Christin Adams, Brian Bush and Mona and Billy Kilpatrick; two great grandchildren, Chelsea Kilpatrick and Sierra Kilpatrick; several nieces and nephews also survive. Clarence Ruil Whatley April 10, 1914 October 4, 2000 COLUMBUS, GA Clarence Ruil Whatley, 86, of Columbus, died Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at St. Francis Hospital.

A memorial service will be held 4pm Saturday, October 7, 2000 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Columbus. Pagano June 4, 1944 October 3, 2000 PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL- Mr. Anthony J. Pagano, 56, of 2914 Laurie Panama City Beach, FL, died Tuesday, October 3, 2000 at a local nursing facility. Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, October 7, 2000 at Striffler-Hamby Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta, GA, with Rev. Emory Gilbert officiating.

He was a chef and loved cooking. Hansen, 83, of Columbus, died Thursday, October 5, 2000 at Columbus Hospice House. Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday in Parkhill Cemetery, with Reverend Lewis "Bud" Passmore officiating. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Hansen was born August 31, 1917 in Cadillac, MI, son of the late John and Eva Erickson Hanson. He had lived in Columbus since 1968 and retired from Columbus Consolidated Government. Mr. Hansen served as a Paratrooper in the U.S.

Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Dora Ruth Gunnels Hansen of Columbus; a half brother, Jerry Hanson of Midland, MI; a half sister, Margaret Benjamin of Warsaw, NY and his step mother, Ann Hanson of Midland, MI. Mr. Johnson was born August 22, 1945 in Russell County, AL, the son of the late Katie Johnson and J.C. Johnson, Sr. He was a graduate of South Girard High School and had served in the U.S. Army.
