When it comes to food inspiration and influence, celebrity chefs seem to have us all drooling with anticipation for their next culinary creations. From Michelin Star restaurants to picture-perfect cookbooks and homecooked meals that soon become staples, many celebrity chefs have built delicious careers based on their near-perfect kitchen skills. As hungry consumers, we are given the opportunity to learn their tricks of the trade while forever expanding our knowledge of the differences between things like baking soda versus baking powder — and why the accuracy of measurements is not to be tampered with.

Celeb chef Marcus Samuelsson has a plethora of credentials to list. The Ethiopian-born Swedish-American is a well-renowned restaurateur and television personality with multiple cookbooks, television appearances, restaurant openings and charity work under his culinary belt. The list of Samuelsson’s accomplishments is so long that we assume it could take up this entire article, which leaves us to wonder how he has only landed himself at the halfway mark financially. Some of his most recent work includes becoming the global brand advisor for Bon Appétit and producing a multi-authored cookbook called The Rise, which he has described as a means to share the Black experience in food history.
